The Finzi Bursary

We are grateful and delighted to announce that The Finzi Trust is funding a NSSO bursary this year which will enable a talented young player to attend the summer course who might otherwise not be able to do so.

Gerald Finzi (1901-56) was an English composer with a distinctive and especially lyrical voice. The Finzi Trustis an organisation set up in 1969 to further the music, ideals and work of Gerald Finzi.  In 2018 NSSO Sinfonia will be performing music by Finzi as part of their concert.

We are thrilled that NSSO has been invited to give the opening concert of the 2018 WOWFest and will play in Wells Cathedral on Thursday 12 July at 7.30pm As part of the festival we will also host a concert at Malvern by the German string ensemble Violinissimo.
